Your mouth is a mirror of your health.
The Biological Dentistry concept is the intersection of modern medicine and dentistry. Promote healing, minimize toxins, and mimick nature.
What is Biological Dentistry?
The Biological Dentistry concept takes into account how our mouth has a symbiotic role in our overall health.
We look at the mouth a little differently than conventional dentistry. Our dental treatments are aimed at minimizing toxicity, promoting wound healing, mimicking nature, and prevention. Our treatments are evidence-based and are aimed at protecting and improving our patient’s health. We are certified in the SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) protocol, activated oxygen, perform Zirconia dental Implants, offer platelet rich fibrin, 3D CBCT, Digital Radiographs, Oral Health Scanning, and more.
Do I need to replace my Mercury fillings?
Amalgam fillings are composed of 50% mercury. There is overwhelming evidence suggesting that Mercury vapors are released into the oral environment during chewing, brushing, and temperature changes.
Amalgam Cracks Teeth
Invisalign treatment uses a series of clear aligners that move your teeth in the ideal position.
Recurrent Decay
Due to metals expanding and contracting, amalgam fillings form open margins that can leak causing recurrent decay.
Aesthetics
Mercury free composite fillings are white and aesthetic like your natural tooth.
SMART amalgam removal
We follow the IAOMT SMART (Safe Amalgam Removal Technique) protocol to reduce patient and staff exposure to mercury vapors during mercury amalgam replacement.
Zirconia Implants
Metal-free tooth replacement with Zirconia Dental Implants
Healthy Gums
Invisible Esthetics
Why Zirconia Implants?
Zirconia implants offer a more biocompatible, metal-free alternative to tooth replacement
Esthetic
White ceramic for a more natural and clean look. No more metal showing or dark shadow along the gum line.
Biocompatible
Optimally tolerated by the body. Excellent regeneration of the gums and improved soft tissue healing and response.
Comfort
After whitening, you will be given 4 sets of upper and lower Vivera retainers to maintain your straight smile.
Metal free
Patients can have metal allergies and be intolerant to titanium. Zirconia behaves like a ceramic, not a metal.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Below are some of the most common questions we recieve about Biological Dentistry.
Should I remove my root canal treated tooth?
A Root Canal is performed when tooth decay is left untreated and bacteria infiltrate the pulp of the tooth. The goal of root canal treatment is to remove the bacteria and nerve tissue from the tooth, and seal it from the inside out. Root canal treated teeth are often re-infected, and not thoroughly cleaned, acting as a harbor for new bacteria to proliferate. Root canal treatment teeth that are re-infected often times should be removed to prevent further infection.
Do you use Ozone?
We use activated oxygen as a natural disinfectant for many different applications in Biological Dentistry. It may be used as a rinse or irrigant to clean and debride infected tissue. It is also used as an adjunct to cleaning beneath the gums and can also used to desensitize root surfaces.
Should I remove my mercury fillings?
This is a great question because we get it so often. Mercury amalgam fillings often have leakage where bacteria infiltrate under the filling and cause recurrent decay. They also can cause structural problems to a tooth leading to fracture. These mercury fillings should be removed and replaced using the IAOMT SMART protocol.
Does your composite have BPA in it?
Many composites and glass ionomers contain BPA (bisphenol a), an ingredient found in plastics that has shown to be an endocrine disrupter. We do offer BPA-free composites if requested.
What metal-free options do I have for replacing my missing tooth?
A porcelain / ceramic bridge is one way to replace a missing tooth. This requires us to prepare the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth. Zirconia dental implants replace missing teeth without touching any neighboring teeth.
